REINCARNATION (Part 6)

Vaaman Avataar:

Lord Vishnu appeared as a Vaaman (child) to ask for a boon of three steps of soil from King Bali. This is a mythological story.

Here one can say once you pass the Nrusimh phase of life and began to walk properly then of course you have to go to school for study. One begins the school as Vaaman (child).

Vaaman Avataar is a phase in one's life to get education. Even in the mythological story, Vaaman Avataar was portrayed as highly learned child.

The message is one should begin education at an early age and continue for life. Education is an ongoing process.

The next post is about Parshuram Avataar

REINCARNATION (Part 5)

Nrusimh Avataar:

This mythological story is about Prahlad, a son of Hiranyaksh, who was true devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyaksh tried to convince Prahlad to forget Vishnu and instead praise him as God. Prahlad was adamant in his belief. Hiranyaksh did everything he could and utimately Lord Vishnu appeared from a pillar in the form of Nrusimh incarnation and killed Hiranyaksh. He was very angry and Prahlad offered many prayers to please the Lord.

This mythological story is inter-related with other stories and one need not go into its detail. From here onward we shall look at the practical side of these incarnation.

Nrusimh (half lion, half man). A baby scrolls like an animal but is not an animal. A baby is a human being. Thus a child in its early stage is like Nrusimh (half animal, half human). In this phase of life a baby sometimes become very wild and would not calm down just as Nrusimh incarnation. A mother has to sing lot of nursery rhyme to pacify the baby just as Prahlad did many prayers to Nrusimh incarnation.

The next incarnation of Vishnu is Vaaman Avataar. Read about this avataar in next post

REINCARNATION (Part 4)

Varah Avataar

It is said that Lord Vishnu took Varah Avataar and fought with Hiranykashyapu who took the earth under the sea. In the battle Hiranyakashypu was killed and Lord Vishnu as Varah rescued the earth from the seabed and put it over his serpent. Since then the earth is quite stable and was made suitable for life existence.

Scientifically, in the entire planetary system  not a single planet is seen under water. All planets are floating in the vacuum and remain connected with each other through their own gravity forces. This clearly indicates that there must be other side of this particular incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

In the Bhagwatam Puran Chapter 12, it is very clearly said that a birth of every single life is same as evolution of an earth. Thus when a child grew enough in mother's womb, it has to come out of the womb but child cannot come out on its own. A situation of a child in a womb is same as the earth in the seabed. The earth needs to be rescued meaning a child need to take a birth. Wind of delivery is an act of Varah incarnation of Lord Vishnu. And the enormous pain a mother experiences during her delivery is like a war between Varah Bhagwaan and Hiranyakashyapu.

Ultimately Hiranyakashyapu was killed (water bag that holds baby burst) and the baby (the earth) is delivered (rescued).

Fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu is Nrusimh (Half lion and Half man) Avataar. Please continue reading it in my next post.

REINCARNATION (Part 3)

Kurma (Tortoise)

When suras (devas) and asuras (danavas) came together to churn the ocean, they requested Lord Vishnu to help them in churning the ocean. Lord Vishnu agrees to take the form of Kurma (totoise) and said that both devas and danavas can put mountain on His back and began churning the ocean with the help of sheshanag (five headed cobra). To help both devas and danavas in churning, Lord Vishnu pull all his senses within. Ultimately after so many days of churning, pure nectar comes from the ocean. The story continues....

Tortoise is the only creature on this planet who is able to pull all its legs and head within its back shell. After five months of conceiving, a child remains in mother’s womb like a tortoise with all its legs, hands and head folded and tightly attached with the body in the womb. As the child continues to grow the pressure within the womb is enormous like having a mountain on a back. Churning of ocean by devas and danavas are nothing but all the good and bad habits of eating, drinking, talking, smoking etc by mother. Today science has proved that whatever mother does during pragnancy affects her child in the womb.

In “Garud Puran”, it is clearly mentioned that after five  months in the womb, a baby recall all its deed of past life and baby promises to Lord that he/she will not repeat the same mistake again in this birth. Here the message from Lord Vishnu if form of tortoise is very clear to a child that as you enter the world, you will encounter enormous pressure (social, moral, financial commitments etc) like having a mountain on back. You will have to face challenges from good people (devas) and bad people (danavas) but if you pull all your senses within your shell (to control one’s senses: refer to my post on sensors and senses), you shall get rewarding nectar from life.

The third incarnation of Lord Vishnu is Varah (pig). The purpose of Varah in our life will be in my next post.

REINCARNATION (Part 2)

Matsya (Fish)

The first incarnation of Lord Vishnu is of Matsya (fish). The story of Matsya in a nutshell is as follows.

Once a king found a small fish starving without water. He got pity on the fish and put it in a small pot in his palace. Soon the fish began to grow rapidly and the king had to transfer the fish to a bigger pot and ultimately ended up putting the fish in a lake. Here again the fish had become so big that the lake became too small. The king prayed to the fish and Lord Vishnu appeared and gave a boon to the king. The story of Matsya incarnation continues....

When a child is conceived, the male sperms are like fish. They struggle to reach to fertilize female egg in ovary (putting the fish in a small pot). As soon as the female egg is conceived, the child begins to take shape and continues to grow in mother’s womb (fish continues to grow). Finally the womb is no longer big enough to hold a child and the baby is born (a big pond can no longer hold the fish and Lord Vishnu appears).

The Hindu scriptures says, “Aham Brahmasi” meaning “I am the Supreme Being”. It is only a matter of realization. Hindu scriptures and all other scriptures also says that every human being is a creation of GOD. So just as Lord Vishnu appears in front of the king when he offers his prayers to the fish, the child is delivered at just right time after a heartily prayer by a mother.

Why Lord Vishnu took tortoise form after the fish form? Keep reading it in my next post.

REINCARNATION (Part 1)

According to Hindu mythology, there are nine incarnations of Lord Vishnu. These are in the following order.

Matsya (fish)
Kurma (tortoise)
Varah (pig)
Nrusimh (half lion, half human)
Vaaman (child)
Parshuram (young adult)
Ram (matured)
Krishna
Buddha

The tenth incarnation to be known as “Kalki” is yet to come.

It is widely accepted fact that Hindu scriptures are based on scientific facts or have some connection with science.

While the birth dates of Ram (Ram Navami), Krishna (Krishna Janmashatami) and Buddha are available, birth dates for other incarnations are not very specific. This is because according to Hinduism, from the evolution of earth till the end, there are four eras known as Satya Yug (1,728,000 years), Treta Yug (1,296,000 years), Dwapar Yug (864,000 years) and Kali Yug (432,000 years). These four yug (era) amounts to total of 4,320,000 years. At the end of these four yug world comes to an end, also known as Big Bang theory.

It is believed that we are in 5000+ years in Kali Yug so if the above theory is correct then our planet has yet less than 427,000 years of life before it comes to an end with Big Bang theory.

If Hindu scriptures are so specific (I will not argue on that) and if it said to have connection with science, then one wonders if the above incarnations of Lord Vishnu has any connection to human life or are they remain strictly as Mythology.

I am fully convinced that the incarnations of Lord Vishnu are portrayed in a systematic order from conceiving of a child to eternity.

In my next post, I will try to explain the system of these incarnations so one can understand why these incarnations of Lord Vishnu are placed in these order.

OUR SENSES (Part 3)

Our Intellect senses.

Ears:
Primary function of ears is to listen and identify various different sound. Most people will be attracted towards gossips instead of listening to other important things like good music, good discourse etc. These happen when one’s mind is not in one’s control.
One must resist the temptation of getting involved in gossips etc.

Five action senses are
Hands,
Legs,
Words,
Private Organs and
Anus.

These senses do not relay any messages but they take command from brain and act accordingly.
When one gets violent, one will command one’s action senses hands, legs, words and even uses one’s private organs (in case of rape).

To control ten senses and the mind, is to identify wrong thing in life and control the mind immediately before the mind takes control of oneself and one ends up in a problem
