FINGERNAILS

FINGERNAILS

Each time I cut my fingernails, I feel like I am fighting battle against evil forces. When I cut my nails, it looks so nice and neat but in next couple of days they started growing back. I have been doing this exercise almost every week for last 7 decades. But I cannot stop them coming back and I cannot see them coming back. I understood that I shall not be able to stop growth of my nails because I have not been able to touch the root of their growth.

Problems in life are like fingernails. No matter what you do, problem shall always be part of life. All one has to do is to keep fighting with the problems just as one do with fingernails.

One encounters physical problems, financial problems, family problem. We cannot get rid of them from our life. They will keep coming back in one way or other in different form in our life.

Have you ever had a look at river. She faces lot of hurdle in her path, but that does not stop her from flowing. She fights and overcome all the hurdles in her path and continues with her journey towards her ultimate goal (sea).

Do not dishearten by the problem.

Remember problems are nothing but your fingernails. Face it, fight it, cut it and keep moving ahead.

Life is a precious gift of God.

DO NOT COMMIT SUICIDE.

PAL PAL DIL KE PAAS

How old are you?

I am 65. I am 85 and still going strong. He is 92 but very sick and in nursing home.
These are our normal day to day conversation. By the way what should be the life span of a human being. According to Hindu scriptures a human being has been blessed with a life of 125 years in modern era known as Kaliyug. Why then people do not achieve its complete life cycle and if at all they go beyond 80 or 90, most of them end up in nursing home.

Have you wondered how many breaths we have in whole life span? How many pal (Indian measurement of time) do we have in our life. Before we go further let us understand the Indian measurement of time. Normally we measure time in hours, minutes and seconds. Similarly Indian measurement of time are in Ghati, Pal and Vipal. There are 60 Ghati in a day (24 hours) which is 2.5 ghati per hour. There are 60 pal in a ghati and 60 vipal in a pal (60 minutes in hour and 60 seconds in a minute) which is 2.5 pal in a minute and 2.5 vipal in a second.

A normal healthy person breath in 21600 times in one day and 60 ghatis x 60 pal x 60 vipal = 216000 vipal in a day equivalent to 24 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds = 86400.
Now if an average person lives for 80 years then he will breathing (80 x 365 x 21600) 630,720,000 times and will have a life of (80 x 365 x 216000) 6,307,200,000 vipal to live.

Just imagine how many breaths and how many vipal do one really use for healthy living? How many breaths and how many vipal do one really spend with the Supreme Being. I recall the above old song. "Pal Pal Dil ke Paas Tum Raheto Ho." That Supreme Being always resides in ones heart. One just needs to look at Him.

Stay connected with the Supreme being and live healthy life
